Q - How do I sell things with Cape Ann Auction?

A - Text, email or use our contact page to see if what you have is a good fit for our auction. 

Q - What kinds of things are you looking for?

A - The list is long, but the things at the top of it are: Cape Ann Art, fine jewelry, coin collections, Maritime antiques etc. See this page for a more in-depth list.

Q - What is your commission fee?

A - Generally between 20% and 50% 

Q - Do you have reserves on items?

A - Rarely.

Q - What other fees do you charge?

A - None. 

Q - Do you buy outright?

A - Yes.

Q - Do you make house calls?

A - Yes.

Q - Do you buy entire estate contents?

A - Yes.

Q - Do you provide references upon request?

A - Yes.

Q- Do you do Certified Appraisals? 

A - Yes, however, these are separate from our auction service and fees apply.

Buying From CAA

Q - How do I bid at your auctions?

A- We run Bid-From-Home auctions on the  Auctionninja, and Liveauctioneers. You will need to register on these sites to bid on our auctions. Terms and conditions are posted on those sites. 

Q - How do I receive my item if I have to bid online?

A - We have local pickup at 159 Maplewood Ave. Gloucester, MA 01930, or we offer shipping on many items. It's important to read the item description and terms and conditions. 

Q- Can I preview the auction items in person?

A - Yes, we have live preview available at 159 Maplewood Ave. Gloucester by texting us at 978-395-7077 for an appointment. 

Please have a list the items you wish to inspect,  we are unable to offer browsing. You MUST be a registered bidder to preview.

Q - Do you offer support getting started on the sites listed above?

A - Yes. We can walk you through the registration and bidding process. Because we don't own the websites, we CANNOT change anything regarding their rules or process.
