Why Bid at the Appleton Lighting Auction

Hello, Auction Fans! Walt and Robin Kolenda here from Cape Ann Auction. Today, we bring you bittersweet news. We're honored to collaborate with the wonderful Jane and Emilia Deimezis of Appleton Lighting in Canton, MA, as they embark on their next chapter.

Appleton Lighting: A Legacy of Passion

For those familiar with the Boston antique scene, the name Appleton Lighting shines brilliantly. It all began with a simple passion. In 1978, Loukas and Jane Deimezis opened their first shop, Appleton Antiques, in the South End of Boston. Driven by their love of collecting antiques, they nurtured their business from humble beginnings.

Their focus quickly shifted to antique lighting. For decades, this family business, built with love by Loukas, Jane, and their daughter Emilia, has served design professionals and homeowners. They consistently surpassed expectations. Appleton Lighting provided exquisitely restored antique and vintage chandeliers, lamps, wall sconces, and pendant fixtures. Each piece brings history and elegance into any space.

Timeless Dedication and Restoration

Stories of their dedication and meticulous restoration efforts are inspiring. Their passion for preserving beauty could only be surpassed by witnessing their work. If you're fortunate enough to see their projects in person, you'll understand completely. Their work graces prestigious locations such as the Wang Theater and the Harvard Club of Boston, among others.

This has been a labor of love. Their legacy will shine brightly in institutions and homes throughout New England.

Change is Inevitable

One certainty in life is that things are always changing. In 2014, the family faced a great loss when co-founder Loukas passed away. What could have spelled the end of their venture transformed into a strengthening legacy under the care of Jane and Emilia. Now, after another solid decade, it's time for their inventory to find new homes. We wish Jane and Emilia all the best as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.

As Jane and Emilia prepare for new adventures, we are privileged to host a two-part online liquidation auction of their remarkable collection. The magnificence of nearly fifty years in business is evident in their warehouse, teeming with thousands of antique lighting fixtures, hardware, and supplies.

The Auction: A Unique Opportunity

This is a rare chance to acquire exceptional lighting fixtures, unique projects in various stages of completion, and rare finds. Each piece has its own story, infused with the Demezis's magic. This auction is more than just a sale; it's an opportunity to own a piece of Appleton Lighting's legacy.
