Emilia and Jane of Appleton Lighting Auction
Onward!

Shining a Light on History: A Farewell & a Fantastic Opportunity!

Hello Auction Fans! Walt and Robin Kolenda here from Cape Ann Auction, and we're bringing you some bittersweet news today. We're honored to be working with the wonderful Jane and Emilia Deimezis of Appleton Lighting in Canton, MA, as they embark on their next chapter.

For those of you familiar with the Boston antique scene, the name Appleton Lighting rings with a special kind of brilliance. And it all began with a passion. In 1978, when husband and wife, Loukas and Jane Deimezis, spurred by a love of collecting antiques, opened their first shop, Appleton Antiques, in the South End of Boston. It was from these humble beginnings, fueled by their genuine appreciation for historical artifacts, that Appleton Lighting evolved.

They quickly found their passion in the world of antique lighting, and for decades, this family business, lovingly built by Loukas, Jane, and their daughter Emilia, has been a beacon for design professionals and homeowners alike. They've consistently exceeded expectations, providing exquisitely restored antique and vintage chandeliers, lamps, wall sconces, and pendant fixtures that bring history and elegance into any space.

Stories of their dedication, meticulous restoration work, and their passion for preserving the beauty of these timeless pieces, may only be exceeded by viewing some of these projects in the wild, should you be fortunate enough to have the opportunity. You’ll find their work in such places as the Wang Theater and the Harvard Club of Boston MA etc.   It's truly been a labor of love, and their legacy will continue to shine brightly in prestigious institutions and homes throughout New England.   .

The only thing that never changes is that things are always changing. In 2014 the family and business suffered the loss of co-founder, husband and father, Loukas.  What could’ve ended then, was further forged into legacy by Jane and Emila. And after another solid 10 years under their care, it’s time for the inventory to be passed on while we wish Jane and Emilia all the best as they move forward. We know their passion for beauty and history will continue to guide them in their future endeavors.

Now, as Jane and Emilia prepare for new adventures, we're privileged to host a two-part online liquidation auction of their remarkable collection. Because yes, the magnificence of almost 50 years in business is reflected in a warehouse filled with thousands of antique lighting fixtures, other antiques, hardware, and supplies.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire some truly exceptional lighting fixtures, phenomenal projects in various stages of completion and rare finds, each with its own story and a touch of the Demezis's magic… So now let's talk about the 2-part auction!

This is a liquidation event, meaning these incredible pieces must find new homes. If you've ever dreamed of owning a piece of Appleton Lighting's legacy, now is your chance. We're talking about fine, restored antique and vintage lighting that will add instant character and sophistication to your home.
