In 1956, he lent his artistic prowess to Elizabeth Borton de Trevino's book, "A Carpet of Flowers."

Crane's contributions to the art community were recognized through his membership in esteemed art groups such as the Salmagundi Club, Audubon Artists, and the Society of American Graphic Artists, among others. His work has found a home in prestigious collections including the Library of Congress, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the New York Public Library, to name a few.
